Uitsig Multi-Market showcases local talent and informal traders

On Sunday, 4 June 2023, the City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Urban Regeneration Programme (MURP) brought its Multi Activity Market to the Uitsig Sport field to showcase local talent and entrepreneurial endeavours within the community. 

The Uitsig Community Multi Activity Market was received warmly by attendees, with a substantial number of community members requesting more information about the Multi-Market and how they can participate next year.

Winners of the talent search that took place on 12 May 2023 were given the opportunity to perform live on the day while participating informal traders were equipped with various skills and platforms to showcase their products. 

'Thank you so much for bracing the rain and being a part of today's festivities here in Uitsig. It was really a pleasure to be a part of this Uitsig Community Multi-Market; we interacted with various traders and witnessed so much talent on the stage. I would also like to encourage those who are interested in taking part to submit their talent search applications early next year,' said the City's Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment, Alderman Eddie Andrews.
